Jay Jernegan
Gerard (Jay) Jernegan is the Deputy Program Manager of Federal Contracts at Centre Law & Consulting. Jay has 31 years federal law enforcement and government experience.
Prior to joining Centre, Jay was the Deputy Section Chief for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Asset Forfeiture program in Arlington, Virginia. In this position, he provided guidance to over 100 government and contractor personnel as well as overseeing the day to day Asset Forfeiture operations of DEA’s 23 domestic field divisions. Acting as a liaison between DEA, DOJ, and other federal agencies, Jay also assisted with the oversight and management of DEA’s annual Asset Forfeiture budget of $240,000,000 for its 51 programs and initiatives.
Jay was also a special agent and supervisor with the DEA in Imperial, California, for 18 years and, before that, was a commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving 10 years in Boston and San Diego.
