Instructor and Procurement Analyst
Tommy Benton is a retired Federal Government employee with the predominance of his service spent working in contracting and acquisition. He was a Senior Procurement Analyst for the U.S. General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service in the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) Policy Division. He served as the Chief of MAS Policy where he developed and presented multiple training courses on the proper use of the MAS Program through online and classroom presentations and held Level III certifications as FAC-C, FAC-COR, and FAC-PPM.. Tommy was also a former DAWIA Level III Navy Contracting Officer and a member of the U.S. Navy Acquisition Professional Community.
Tommy also served at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), teaching Federal Government Contracting at the entry, intermediate, and executive levels. He has taught at the VA Acquisition Academy, the Treasury Acquisition Institute, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and multiple years of National Contract Management Association World Congress events. Tommy provides training/awareness courses and webinars on evolving federal contracting topics of interest to both industry and members of the federal acquisition workforce through his association with GovConRx.
